Rejuvenation techniques

Combined techniques

All these techniques can be combined to offer a natural, attractive result for today’s men and women in search of healthy skin and a pleasant, voluptuous face.

Superficial and medium peels

Advantage: To prepare the skin for a stronger peel and benefit from action on both the epidermis and the dermis.

Zoom on medium-strength TCA peels: Their action is deeper since they penetrate into the superficial dermis, whereas superficial peels treat the signs of ageing on the epidermis. The after-effects are more serious (desquamation for three days after the peel) but a lower concentration of TCA can be used to limit the side effects. TCA is particularly recommended for the treatment of acne scars and slack, wrinkled skin.

The golden rule: Always start with a superficial peel since this eliminates dead cells on the surface, a mandatory stage to enable homogeneous TCA penetration and satisfactory results. The two types of peel can be carried out during a single session.

Peels and hyaluronic acid injections

Advantage: Double action on ageing skin: the peel improves the surface quality of the skin and the dermis is plumped (compensating the loss of substance) by the injection.

Zoom on hyaluronic acid injections: Filler products containing hyaluronic acid (a natural hydrating substance found in the skin) enable correction of fine lines and wrinkles with a single intra-epidermal injection. They are absorbable, more or less reticulated and concentrated in active ingredients depending on the treatment area and action time. Hyaluronic acid injections enable re-sculpting of the volumes of certain parts of the face (cheeks, lips, oval) without surgery.

The golden rule: Start with a superficial peel, then the doctor will inject the filler product.

Peels and botulinum toxin

Advantage: The anti-age benefits of two processes with opposite but complementary modes of action. The stimulating peel improves skin quality while the botulinum toxin reduces muscle pressure to lessen wrinkles.

Zoom on botulinum toxin: Injection of tiny amounts of botulinum toxin enables blockage of the muscles in the treatment area (“lion” wrinkles between the eyebrows, for example). The muscles cease to exert pressure on the skin and wrinkles are smoothed away for six months.

The golden rule: These two techniques can be combined in a single session. In this case, the peel will be carried out before the botulinum toxin injection. If you start with the botulinum toxin injection, you will have to wait an hour before the peel.

Peels and mesotherapy

Advantage: A concentrated boost of radiance, hydration and volumising effects!

Zoom on mesotherapy: Mesotherapy enables subcutaneous injection of a cocktail of vitamins and hyaluronic acid using very fine needles. The results are a gradual reduction of fine lines and firmer, brighter skin. Associated with a peel, mesotherapy boosts skin radiance and ensures optimal hydration.

The golden rule: The peel will be carried out first to eliminate dead skin cells and optimise penetration of the mesotherapy product into the skin. The peel is recommended to prevent the mesotherapy product from escaping via enlarged pores for certain skin types.

Peels and LED light therapy

Advantage: Combining a peel with LED therapy intensifies the action of the light therapy.

Zoom on LED therapy: The LED (Light Emitting Diode) technique uses the light’s vibrations to provide a gentle skin regeneration effect. The light triggers photo-chemical reactions in the cells to stimulate renewal. Depending on the indication to be treated, the doctor will select the right light combination. The LED stimulates the activity of collagen and elastin fibres, protects the free radicals and is appreciated for its anti-inflammatory benefits.

The golden rule: Before applying the LED protocol, a peel is recommended to optimise the action of the light therapy. Treatment begins with one or two sessions of LED therapy per week for one month. Then one session every fortnight will be necessary.

Peels and microdermabrasion

Advantage: Optimal stimulation of cellular renewal with two exfoliation techniques.

Zoom on microdermabrasion: The peel contains fruit acids to ensure chemical exfoliation of the dead cells. Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation technique that can be performed before a chemical peel. The “scrub” facilitates and intensifies the penetration of the active ingredients of the peel. Smooth, radiant skin guaranteed! Note that this technique is often used to treat stretch marks and severe acne scars.

The golden rule: Not for sensitive skins! For everyone else, light microdermabrasion can be carried out just before application of the peel (low concentration). After a stronger microdermabrasion, wait one or two weeks before the peel.

Peels and non-ablative laser treatment

Advantage: The peel improves the effect of the laser treatment since it smooths the skin, ensuring homogeneous distribution of the light and therefore better results.

Zoom on non-ablative laser treatment: This laser treatment acts by heating the superficial dermis, where the collagen and elastin fibres are produced. The thermal action triggers a systemic response, reactivating the production of new fibres. The skin is firmer and texture irregularities are smoothed over. And there’s no downtime!

The golden rule: Leave at least four weeks between the peel and the laser treatment. The association of peel and ablative laser treatment is not recommended because of the invasive nature of this type of laser.

Peels and flashlamp therapy

Advantage: The same as for the peel/laser association.

Zoom on flashlamp therapy: Also called pulsed light, the principle of this photorejuvenation technique is roughly the same as that of laser treatment. However, its range of action is wider, enabling the treatment of slighter, more superficial indications. Pulsed light enables specific action on dark spots, red marks and small blood vessels, and restores skin tension.

The golden rule: An intermediary peel can be carried out (i.e. one week before or after the first flashlamp session).
