What is it ?
Salicylic acid is naturally synthesised by certain plants. It belongs to the Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) group and was originally used for treating fevers (aspirin is derived from it).
In dermatology, salicylic acid is known for its keratolytic action (removal of dead cells). It is typically used for treating warts and acne thanks to its antibacterial properties.
By exfoliating the skin’s surface, salicylic acid stimulates cell production and enables the treatment of cutaneous ageing.
For all acne-prone skin types.
